The Galapagos are all about giant tortoises, blue-footed boobies and snorkelling with sea lions, and a Galapagos eSIM keeps you posting between wildlife walks. Signal here is basic to reliable 4G, strongest in the towns: expect a decent connection at Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz, around the Charles Darwin Research Station, at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on San Cristobal and near Tortuga Bay. Out on the trails and boats coverage thins, so download your maps and translation phrases before you leave the harbour and your day runs smoothly.

On the Galapagos you get the most usable signal in the main towns, Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz and Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on San Cristobal, and near the small airports. Being far out in the Pacific, expect it to disappear on boat crossings and around the uninhabited reserves. Install the eSIM before you travel and switch it on in town, keeping your home number for calls. Tip: download everything you need in town, since cruises run mostly offline.
