How it works
Four minutes at home. Online when you land.
An eSIM is a SIM card that arrives by email instead of by post. Nothing to swap, nothing to lose, and your own number keeps working the whole time.
The whole thing, in short
- 01 Search the country you are flying to.
- 02 Pay once. The total includes tax.
- 03 Install the eSIM from the email, on wifi.
- 04 Land, switch on roaming for that line.
Installing does not start the plan, so you can do all of this weeks before you fly.
Step 01 · about 60 seconds
Choose where you are going
Search the country, then pick how long you are there. We show the data size for each trip length so you are not guessing in gigabytes.
Not sure how much data? A week of maps, messaging and the odd video is about 3 GB.
Your order
- Activation fee

- Renewal
- None, the bundle just ends
- Account needed to buy
- Not required
Step 02 · about 30 seconds
Pay once, with tax included
No account needed to buy. The total you see is the total you are charged, and nothing renews later. Your eSIM arrives by email straight after.
Step 03 · about 2 minutes
Install it at home, on wifi
Open the email on a laptop and scan the QR code with your phone, or tap the install link if you are reading on the phone itself. Installing does not start the plan.
- 01 Open the email while you are still on wifi, at home.
- 02 Tap the install link, or scan the QR code from another screen.
- 03 Label the line “Viasimo” so you can tell it apart later.
Step 04 · on arrival
Land, switch it on, done
When you arrive, turn on data roaming for the Viasimo line and leave your own line for calls and texts. The plan starts counting from your first connection abroad, not from the day you bought it.
Turn off data for your home line at the same time. That is what stops a roaming charge appearing later.
Will it work on my phone?
Most phones sold since 2019 support eSIM, and the phone must not be carrier locked. Dial *#06#: if you see an EID number, you are set.

If something is not right
The email has not arrived
Check spam, then the address you typed at checkout. Support can resend it to a different address in a minute.
No signal after landing
Toggle flight mode once, then confirm data roaming is on for the Viasimo line. Selecting the network manually is the fallback.
Data ran out early
Top up from the same page at the same price per gigabyte. Video is usually what drained it.
Asked before every trip
- Do I lose my own number?
- No. Your normal SIM stays in the phone and keeps handling calls and texts. Viasimo only carries the data.
- When does the plan start counting?
- At your first connection to a network in the destination country, not when you buy or install it.
- Can I install it now and travel next month?
- Yes. Installing is not activating. Most people install the evening before they fly.
- What if my phone does not support eSIM?
- Dial *#06# before buying. No EID number means no eSIM, and we would rather you found out now.
- Can I use it in more than one country?
- Regional bundles cover a whole region on one eSIM. Single country bundles work in that country only.
That is the whole process.
Pick a country and you will have the email before you finish packing.
